Homosassa - Saltwater Fishing Report

Homosassa Thanksgiving Fishing Report

Happy Thanksgiving to all, especially the folks that came to visit with us the season and enjoyed the beauty, the fishing and the scalloping here on Florida's Nature Coast! You have made this our most successful season to date! We hope to see you all again next year! As I have done the past two winters, I will not being doing any charters during the months of December, January and February. Though if you'd like to fish here in Old Homosassa during those months I can gladly refer you to another local Guide. As many of you know, Cynthia and I travel lots during those three months and this year's travels will include some exciting locations and adventures. December's adventures will include Shark fishing in Southern California with Captain Mike Schmidt, www.sharks.us, and Ice fishing in Breckenridge, Colorado. Now that's going to be cool or COLD! January, I'll be returning to the Cajun Fishing Adventures Lodge, www.cajunfishingadventures.com in Buras, Louisiana fishing with Captain Johnny "Black" Hodge before heading to the Super Bowl in New Orleans. During February, Cynthia and I will be heading to The Zancudo Lodge in Costa Rica for the "1st Annual Reel Animals Fishing Show Sailfish Tournament", see below for details. Don't forget to book your charters for March, April and Scallop season, (July 1st through September 24th), early as those are always our busiest times of the year.

Remember those hard to buy for anglers on your shopping list with a Gift Certificate, available on our Home Page at www.HomosassaRedfish.com for a memory and adventure that will never be forgotten! Could Santa give a better gift?

The new web page for my Custom Young 24 Boat, "Red Eddie or Knot", is completed and loaded with plenty of pictures of my new toy! For you folks that sent comments about the new boat check the page as many of those comments have been included, www.HomosassaRedfish.com. This awesome vessel will allow me to do things that I just wasn't able to do with my Carolina Skiff, like offshore Grouper & Cobia charters, Tarpon charters, Fly-fishing charters and Spearfishing charters. Call 352-382-3939 to book your charter on the classiest charter boat in all of Citrus County!

Only a few openings left come join us for three days of fishing at the "1st Annual Reel Animals Fishing Show Sailfish Tournament" at the Zancudo Lodge, www.zancudolodge.com, in Costa Rica, February 23, 2013 through February 27, 2013. The three day tournament, Sunday, 2/24, Monday, 2/25 and Tuesday, 2/26 is being held during peak Sailfish time and will be filmed for broadcast nationwide on the Reel Animals Fishing Show. Space is limited to the first 20 anglers to register. Once at the lodge the all-inclusive cost is $3195.00 per person when fishing with two people per boat, it's less if you have three anglers per boat. The only other expense would be your airfare to and from Costa Rica and tips for the staff at the lodge. Most of us will be flying on JetBlue out of Orlando on Saturday, 2/23, for $450.00 roundtrip. Contact Greg Mufson at Zancudo Lodge, 650-255-7815, for more details or to reserve your adventure. The Zancudo Lodge, where over 70, I.G.F.A. records have been set, is Costa Rica's premier fishing resort - world renowned for both its inshore and offshore fishing. Voted as the #1 fishing lodge in Costa Rica, and surrounded by the beauty of Costa Rican wildlife, idyllic foliage, and private beaches, The Zancudo Lodge offers guests a variety of activities accompanied by luxuriously appointed rooms and the finest and freshest of our regional organic cuisine. Get away from winter and come join Captain Michael Anderson, Captain Billy Nobles and Cynthia and I for what's sure to be an exciting Central American adventure!
