Although May tarpon sightings were at the lowest point that I have seen in my career as a tarpon fly fishing guide in Homosassa because of record cold winter, the highlight was Tom Evans record tarpon.

Weighing in at 194.1 pounds on 12 lb. tippett, the ratio is more or less 15 to 1. The guide is none other than Capt. Al Dopirak of Crystal Beach FL.

May is always the month to land a really big tarpon.

Now that June is coming up, I am looking forward to seeing and catching more tarpon in one day in June than in the month of May.
