Fishing Report for Homosassa, Florida

Capt. Mike Locklear
October 13, 2004
Homosassa - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing and Weather Superb

Homosassa flats fishing have been redfish hot the last few days including this past weekend. Many captains and guides have caught and released up to 50 redfish both under and within the slot. Looks like a bumper crop of rat sized reds which are in the 12 to 16 inch range. Cobs account for the sizes between 20-24 inches. However the biggest on board my boat was around 26 inches and was landed with a gold spoon. Trout fishing continues to be good with limits of 5 fish per person attainable with some hard work.

Grouper action is picking up as well.

Many anglers and captains deserve mention and praise for their catches, however, with time constraints and perplex ion, we must give all the glory and praise to God for his wonderful creation and the ability to get there.

Have a Great Day!
