Homosassa - Saltwater Fishing Report

Homosassa Fishing is Better After Hurricanes
Trout fishing has improved and waters of about 3-4 feet are producing the best results. Top water Mirrolures and Cajun Thunders over Cotee jigs were big producers. 40 plus trout up between 16 to 19 inches were kept among 7 anglers.
Perfect weather with a few high clouds and 6 inch waves made for a pretty picture.
The shore lunch was superb as the fresh trout tasted mighty fine.
The company was about as good as it gets. Can't mention any names as there were too many to list. A few come to mind such as Butch, Bobby, John, and jet pilots Scott and Chris. Fine Cuban cigars made it real special.
It was fun time had by all. Even the guides were fun to be with. Capt. Ed Lewis is the jack crevalle king as we got into perhaps a school of 500 that were hanging out near a cut in-between the bars. Butch landed several on the long fly rod with many more crashing the top dog mirrolures.
Capt. Ray Wallace had 19 trout and was top boat, Capt. Jim Long got into a few reds catching 3. Last week he smoked them with Jack Wild with a total of 53.
My clients caught a lot of reds last week and it looks like the weekend should be excellent for reds and trout.
Offshore the grouper are hitting but not tearing it up yet as we need a little cooler water to drop the temperature down.
Get out there and go fishing if you can because it is good fir ya and remember if you are too busy to go fishing, well you are just too busy.
Have a Great Day
Give All The Glory to God
Capt. Mike
