Homosassa - Saltwater Fishing Report
Atlanta Club members Carter Smith and Ben Spearman along with their guest had a super time CATCHING redfish after redfish. Saturday September 22 was a day that was the best ever for some of the anglers whom reeled in more redfish than on any other previous trip in 40 years of angling.
Although the redfish were just in the slot between 18-24 inches about 45-50 were caught and released in two hours.
Kirk Wilson and Kenny Mitchum had the same action on Friday perhaps landing 60 redfish. Kirk has been fishing with me for over 15 years and had his best day ever as well as far as numbers of many redfish caught and released.
This past month has been one of record numbers of reds caught compared to the last five years. Big ones too up to 16 pounds and 37 inches. Many double and triple hook-ups and one client landed a new boat record of 31 redfish on the fly rod. The same angler landed over 50 in one tide using the spinning rod trhe next day.
Don't take my word for it, go to my photo gallery and see the results.
Trout are starting to move in and we are catching a few.
Please check out the photo gallery of Dr. Juha Kokko and guest Lewis and Betty Smoak smoked the big bull redfish.
I certainly enjoyed the cooler weather and the rain we have been getting has helped to cool down the water some.
Also be looking for John and Will Euart's fishing photos where Captains Fred Lyles, Jim Long, Charlie Harris and myself managed to find both reds and trout for the professional group of anglers.
Most outstanding catches were of those with Will Euart and John with some big bull redfish.
But everyone had a great time and be sure to check out the fly rod caught species by Will in todays's photos in my photo gallery.
