This Week's Fishing Report
You can only love spring break on the Indian River Lagoon Coast of Florida. Although a bit windy, the weather was great, and it 's always exciting to guide angling families to a catch of their lifetime. The fishing was also a bit slow this last week, but the fish we did manage to catch were quality. I'll let the photos tell the rest of the story.
On a windy March day, Irl Rosner managed three quality redfish on fly in the Banana River Lagoon No-Motor Zone.
Whitney and her father Jeff enjoyed and exciting day on the water together as she managed this respectable redfish. Whitney was home on spring break and her father treated her to a day on the water aboard Three Quarter Time.
Frederick Rambo is a huge fan of River Monsters TV Show, as he caught one of his own while bass fishing on the St Johns River with his dad. Caught on ten-pound tackle, this channel catfish is almost as large as he is. The catfish was caught on a soft plastic worm.
The largemouth and sunshine are starting to school up and feed on small shad, and this bass was taken on a DOA CAL Shad Tail presented on the top of the water in the area of schooling bass.
Return clients Craig and Max Welch joined their good friend John for a memorable day on the Lagoon as they each caught trophy redfish. They also caught their limit of slot redfish and numerous sea trout.
Anglers are also catching cobia, dolphin and kingfish out of Port Canaveral, but I haven't had the opportunity, having too much fun fishing inshore.
As always, if you need information or have any questions, please contact me.
Good luck and good fishing,
Captain Tom Van Horn
