Burr! The weather this past week or so has been on the cold side. Water temps are now in the upper 40s to upper 50s depending whether you are out in the morning or afternoon. Consequently, fish-feeding activity has been minimal. Live shrimp have been the best choice. Free-lined in the deeper holes around islands or other structure they have produced some small trout. Later in the afternoons pitching shrimp up against the sunny shorelines has produced a few small redfish. The shallow flats have been devoid of fish since the very cold weather set in. If warmer weather persists for a while and the water warms up into the 60s reds and trout should start patrolling these areas again. Basically, we need some warmer water to get the fish into a feeding mood. Not much else to tell this week.
