Central Indian River Lagoon

Capt. Ron Bielefeld

Indian River Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Ron Bielefeld's Indian River Lagoon Report - Sebastian Area

Unfortunately, I had a death in the family, so I will have to keep this report shorter than usual as I am headed out of town to attend the funeral. The trout have been going gangbusters. They are still located in shallow water over mixed grass and sand. Many of these fish are small, but we have been catching some to 4 lbs. Jigs have been the best producers, but Rip-Tide Brand weedless shrimp continue to produce as well.

Flounder are still in the Inlet, but numbers have slacked off. With smaller numbers, however, the size has picked up a bit as some southerns have moved in. Jigs bounced off the bottom continue to produce fish.

Snook and reds are in the Inlet, in canals, under docks, along shorelines, and on some flats. These fish have been taking a mixed bag of lures and live mullet. Numbers of these fish have not been high, but they are a nice addition when they do cooperate.

It is supposed to get pretty chilly Sunday night and for a few days after, so things may change a bit. I will keep fishing and hopefully keep catching. Until next time, Tight-Lines and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Sincerely,

Capt. Ron
