Central Indian River Lagoon

Capt. Ron Bielefeld

Indian River Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Ron Bielefeld's Indian River Report-Sebastian Area

Hopefully the really cold and windy weather is gone for a while. This past week saw very cold and windy conditions make fishing the Indian River Lagoon around Sebastian nearly impossible. Water temps dipped to 52 degrees. I found shelter in the Sebastian River where trout, pompano, lady fish, jacks, and tarpon provided some good action. These fish hit just about anything, but live shrimp on jigs provided hits on just about every cast. The weather is supposed to warm up for next few days so water temps should rebound and the fishing in the Lagoon itself should improve. Of course this will happen because I will be in Indiana visiting family for Christmas. Well, some things are more important than fishing. I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year. I will report again upon my return from the frozen north.

Sincerely,

Capt. Ron
