Indian River Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Ron Bielefeld's Indian River Lagoon Report-Sebastian Area
I hope everyone had a great holidays. Did a bunch of fishing over the past two weeks during cold, mild, and warm conditions. Currently, water temps have warmed up a bunch and trout, reds, ladyfish, jacks, and some snook have been hitting. By far the most active fish have been the trout and we have been catching some nice fish in the 5 lb. range. Many are over the 15 inch minimum size limit. The trout have been hitting Ripe-Tide Brand Weedless Shrimp worked slowly through grassy and sandy areas during the cooler periods of the day. Late in the day when things have warmed up, jigs and even top-water plugs have been effective. The larger trout have remained in shallow water areas, so I suggest targeting these areas if you want larger fish. The Reds have been taking the Rip-Tide shrimp in the same areas the trout have been hanging out, so I have been sticking with them throughout many of the days in order to catch trout and reds. The ladyfish, as usual, have taken whatever we have been throwing. Snook have taking the Rip-Tide lures and live shrimp worked near deep water docks and mangroves. If the water temps stay up the fishing should stay good. Until next time, Tight-Lines to all.
Sincerely,
Capt. Ron
