Indian River Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Ron Bielefeld's Indian River Report - Sebastian Area
I have not fished a lot since my last report due to a combination of some poor weather, a death in the family, and jury duty, but when I did get out things went pretty much as they have been going over the past couple of weeks. Good action on trout, a shot at a red or two, and some ladyfish thrown in for good measure.
I continue to target shallow water for the larger trout and reds and 3-4 feet of water for the smaller trout and ladyfish. The trout and reds continue to take Rip-Tide Brand weedless shrimp and live shrimp. I have been throwing a few top-water plugs when the water temps have crept into the low 70s, but have not had a lot of action on plugs yet. Top-water time is coming; you just have to be patient. I know, it is hard to wait.
The wind is supposed to blow hard on Wednesday (20-30 mph) other than that conditions seem like they will be at least fishable the rest of the week into next weekend. With conditions remaining as they have been for awhile now, unstable, fishing should remain similar as well, unpredictable. But hey, a day on the water fishing is always a good day even if the catching is slow. Until next time, Tight-Lines to all.
Sincerely,
Capt. Ron
