Indian River Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Ron Bielefeld's Indian River Lagoon Report-Sebastian Area
Trout, reds, and jacks have been active over the past week. Catching has been difficult when the winds have been up, but fairly good when they have been light. Top-water plugs have been effective early in the mornings and late in the evenings for trout and jacks. During other parts of the day Rip-Tide Brand Weedless Shrimp and Flats Chubs have been working for trout and reds. As usual the new penny color has worked best. Larger fish continue to be located in shallow water of about 1 to 11/2 feet of water. The reds have been using areas of softer bottom while the trout have been associated with grass. Flats with a good mixture of sand pockets have been holding the most fish.
When the weather was warmer, I did some night fishing during the last full moon for trout and snook. Snook were a bit sluggish due to the still cool water temps, but the trout were active and we caught some nice fish after dark. Top-water plugs were the most productive. Until next time Tight-Lines to all.
Sincerely,
Capt. Ron
