Indian River Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Ron Bielefeld's Indian River Report-Sebastian Area
Well the fishing was great up until the last several days of cold nights, which has brought the water temps down into the upper 50s. We have really had to work for our fish these past few days. We are still catching a few nice trout and reds, but the forecast is for freezing temps tonight and lows in the 40s and low 50s for the next several days. This will cause water temps to drop even further and will make catching anything but small trout difficult if not unwise. The fish are going to be very stressed out until the water temps rise.
The fish we have been catching have been taking jigs (Rip-Tide Brand Weedless Shrimp for the most part) and shallow diving plugs worked very slowly with a long pause in between movements. We have been looking for larger trout and reds and have been finding a few in 2-4 feet of water along breaks between shallow and deep areas. Some of the reds have been in the backwater muddy areas later in the day. Not much more to add, just that I hope the temps rise and the winds drop soon, so we can get back to enjoying some great fishing. Until next time, Tight-Lines to all.
Sincerely,
Capt. Ron
