Indian River Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Ron Bielefeld's Indian River Lagoon Fishing Report-Sebastian Area
The fishing remained great this past week. Trout, snook, and a few redfish made up the bulk of our catches. As an example, myself and Capt. Jeff Kraynik ( a good friend of mine) fished the Double Slam tournament yesterday and we caught about 38 fish during he day. These fish included 21 snook, 10 trout, and 2 reds with a few jacks and ladyfish thrown in. You would think that with a tally like that we would have won something, but no. Unfortunately, none of the snook or reds were big enough to make the leaders board. We did have a 5 lb trout that ended up in 4th place. Hey, you can’t win them all, but we had a great day on the water.
The snook came on Storm Lures Inc. Thunder Dogs and Yo-Zuri 3D Fingerlings. The 4th place trout came on a Rip Tide Brand Weedless Shrimp. One of the reds also came on the Rip Tide and one hit the Yo-Zuri.
We fished all types of areas from open flats to docks to rock piles. We fished water less than a foot deep to water 4 feet deep. We caught fish in all these areas. The only slow part of the day was from about 2-4 pm. During the rest of the day we were catching fish. As usual, top-water was best first thing in the morning, after that we had to go deeper. I hope the fishing stays hot for awhile, but things change quickly on the Lagoon. Until next time, Tight-Lines to all.
Sincerely,
Capt. Ron
