Indian River Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Ron Bielefeld's Indian River Lagoon fishing report-Sebastian Area
Hey, the fishing this past week or so has been pretty good early and late in the day, top-water action as usual. Storm chug bugs, Rapala Skitter Walks, and Excalibur super spooks have been the most productive. We have been targeting the edges of shallow grass flats and bars and working chug bugs if the water is choppy and walk the dog type lures is the water is calm. Gold and black has been the best color pattern early and late in the day. After the sun is up for an hour or so, we have been moving to a bit deeper water along the edges of flats, islands, or bars and using Rip-Tide Brand Flats Chubs rigged on a ¼ ounce jig head to keep the action coming. Rapala X-Raps and and Yo-Zuri 3D Fingerlings have been productive as well. If all else has failed we have been turning to live shrimp free-lined or suspended under a float. Redfish, trout, snook, snapper, and black drum have been taking the live shrimp. This summer pattern of early morning and late evening action will be with a for a while, so get out there and take advantage of the condensed feeding activity. Until next time, Tight-Lines to all.
Sincerely,
Capt. Ron
