Indian River Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Ron Bielefeld's Indian River Lagoon trout, red, and snook fishing report-Sebastian Area
The weather has been pretty warm so the water temps are not bad for this time of year. As a result we have been catching some nice trout, reds, and even a few snook. How about that! Some of the trout have been hitting top-water late in the day over shallow flats. Most of the fish, however, have been hitting jigs and small shallow-diving plugs. Rip-Tide Brand Flats Chubs, DOA Cal Spit-tailed Shads, and Yo-Zuri 3D Fingerlings all have been productive at various times. We have been fishing areas with scattered grass, but also areas of mud bottom. The common denominator has been bait. Find the small finger mullet, mud minnows, glass minnows, or crabs and you generally find fish. We have not been working anything too fast. Just giving our lures enough action to be detected. That includes the top-water plus as well. The weather is supposed to stay relatively warm, so this pattern of fishing 1-3 feet of water should maintain itself. Until next time, Tight-Lines to all.
Sincerely,
Capt. Ron
