Indian River Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Ron Bielefeld's Indian River Lagoon trout, redfish, and snook fishing report-Sebastian area
The weather cooled off and now is warming up again. The fish do not seem to know what to do, but they are still hungry! Trout have been the mainstay of our catches recently, but a few reds have been cooperating along with a lot of black drum. Snook, sheepshead, and snapper have been rounding out many of our trips. The water temperature has been fluctuating from the low 60s to about the 70-degree mark, so we have gone to jigs with small soft plastics to catch the trout and reds. The most productive lure of late has been the Rip-Tide Brand Weedless Shrimp in the night-glow color. The Yo-Zuri 3D Fingerling has been working too but you need to get it down to the fish to have any luck, so try adding a small split shot to you line just above the lure to get it down deeper. Live shrimp have been taking the black drum, snook, and sheepshead. We have been working the soft plastics very slowly around drop offs of flats and spoil islands and live shrimp around docks and other structure. The key has been working everything slow. Hopefully the weather will continue to be nice, because if it does, the fishing should stay productive.
Until next time, Tight-Lines to all,
Capt. Ron Bielefeld
