Dolphin dominate offshore fishing

Capt. Izzy Donatiello
July 22, 2008
Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

Dolphin dominate the offshore picture. There are all the fish you want to catch from 450 feet out to 700 feet. The problem is that the fish are on the small size. If the fish are small move on to the next group. You should be able to find enough nice size fish to make your day. This week I had Joshua Gray from Fort Meyer out and he caught a 30 pound cow dolphin.

The tarpon fishing has been great. I had Dave Froster out twice for Tarpon the first trip we fished with dead baits and caught a 70 pounder. The second trip we fished with crabs and caught a 20 pound Permit an two 90 pound Tarpon.

The reef fishing has also been good. The Yellowtail and Mangrove snapper. are bitting good.

Izzy
