1-5-11 Florida Keys Offshore - Cobias, sails, macks!

Capt. Richard Stanczyk
January 15, 2011
Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

Quite a few boats fished today off Islamorada and every boat at Bud n' Mary's had a nice catch. The Reel McCoy caught and released 4 sailfish on a 1/2 day, the Kalex had their limit of cobia to 50 lbs! as well as their limit of king mackerel and some yellowtail snapper for dinner. The Cloud Nine also had 4 sailfish releases as well as 4 nice cobia up to 45 lbs. On the Bn'M we released 2 sailfish, 10 barracuda's, caught a few cero mackerel, and then finished the day off with a few cobia, up to 40 lbs. Get on down here for some Florida Keys Sailfishing while it's still a hot bite! Backcountry has produces some good snapper and mackerel fishing on the gulf edge, lots of fish flushed out of the bay with the recent cold weather. Capt. Rick Stanczyk had a nice catch limit of snappers on a half day the other day and some macks too.
