Islamorada Hot tuna fishing

Capt. Bruce Andersen
October 10, 2014
Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

The fall tuna fishing this year off Islamorada has been awesome.:) It's been almost non stop for a solid month now and as of 2 days ago they're still biting. Live baiting with pilchards or cigar minnows has been the best way to go. The sharks are a huge problem. You've got to really be persistent and work the tuna's in as fast as possible, but we've managed to get plenty of fish past them including some 20+ pounders most days. On Wednesday we had as many as 5 sharks hanging under the boat waiting on the tuna to get close. When they get that bad it's usually time to go start a new drift. Dolphin fishing has also been good, but a little hit or miss depending on the day. Sword fishing has also been consistently good the last week or 2. Here are some pictures.
