Islamorada Hot tuna and snapper fishing

Capt. Bruce Andersen
October 16, 2013
Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

The fishing is red hot down here in the Florida Keys right now. Especially tuna fishing and snapper fishing. The black fin tuna bite was exceptionally good on our last trip with several tuna over 20# caught on 20# spinning tackle live bait fishing with pilchards. We had the tuna chummed up right behind the boat exploding on the live baits. The yellow eye and vermillion snapper bite has also been very good. Sword fishing has been excellent as well. As the weather starts to cool in the next few weeks we should be seeing some great sailfishing start as well as some great bottom fishing for mutton snapper and grouper.

Islamorada Fishing Forecast:

Sailfishing and wreck fishing should really heat up in the next few weeks.

Target Species:

black fin tuna, snapper
