Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

During week of the 6th, the winds let up enough for us to do some trips. Monday the 7th, I made a patch reef trip with a family. We fished the shallow patches off of long key. The snappers were hungry; we came in with dinner including an 8 pound red grouper. Tuesday, I made the run back into the gulf for some hot action with bluefish and spanish mackerel and out in the deep holes big mangroves and grouper. Thursday, was out to the blue water for a sailfish. We caught bait at Davis Reef and headed off Conch Reef to fish. Fishing wasn't hot, but did manage to catch a small sail; after he made 4 attempts to eat a bait. That was the only sail action we had. We did have a handful of king bites later in the afternoon.
