Upper Florida Keys & Islamorada

Capt. Izzy Donatiello

Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

I made a trip to flamingo and caught a lot of sea trout up to 19 inches and a couple of redfish. The action took place a couple of miles from the Ranger station. Tarpon fishing still remains good. This Wednesday I took out Adam Piasecki and his wife Marlene. They had five Tarpon on; two got off on the first jump, a third broke the line on a bridge, and two 50 pounders we release at the boat. Last Saturday, I had the Eric Hollands from England out; He had a lot of Barracuda bites managed to get one to the boat before it eat through the line, Three tarpon on two got off after about a minute the third was 10 foot from the boat before the hook pulled.

On the ocean the dolphin fishing has slow down, there aren't the big schools coming through, some wahoo being caught. Not many boats getting out and the ones that have been catching Kingfish and snappers.
