Upper Florida Keys & Islamorada

Capt. Izzy Donatiello

Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

Last week I had two interesting trips. I had the Haagen-dazs ice cream sale group from fort Lauderdale headed by Charles Cohen. We headed off shore to try for some snappers. One throw of the net provided all the live bait we needed. I chummed heavily at the beginning to get the action started. The fish must have been hungry. First the smaller ones showed up, then the big guys moved in. The action was steady. We caught a mixed bag of Mangroves up to 4 pounds, 17 inch Yellowtails and Mutton snappers up to 8 pounds. The four guys when home with a nice pile of fillets.

I had a half day trip with the father and son team of Jerry and Robert Simon. The wind was still blowing pretty good so we went into the national park. With a well full of pilchards; we headed to an Island and fished the lee side. The live bait worked; we came in with a nice catch of snappers up to 3 pounds.

give somebody a holiday gift they will remember forever, book a trip with a FULL time pro. Call 1-800-320-2753.

Izzy
