Upper Florida Keys & Islamorada

Capt. Izzy Donatiello

Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

Over the last couple of weeks the Sailfishing has been disappointing. The king Mack bite has also been on the slow side, and the fish you do catch are on the small side. A week ago their were some good tuna and WAHOO action in 400 feet of water trolling high speed lures and deep running plugs (yellow and blue) .

Coming off the full moon has improved the bottom bite. Over the past week we caught black, gags and red grouper up to 12 pounds and muttons to 9 pounds, mangrove to 4 pounds and when conditions are right a couple of yellow tails in the 2 to 4 pound not many just a couple. A well FULL of live bait is the key to the action.

Book a trip with a FULL time pro, call 1-800-320-2753.
