Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report

As much as things have changed in the last 40 years they have also stayed the same as far as fishing in Jacksonville Florida. My father taught me a lot about fishing as I was growing up. He was an avid Trout fisherman that could catch Nice Trout almost any time of the year. I guess I kind of pride myself in my Trout fishing also…

I'm not saying I'm the best in this area but I can hold my own. The funny thing is that I still fish a lot of the same spots that I did as a kid and I read the water and move with the Trout just like my father taught me. He is not able to fish much now and I sure miss the time we used to spend together on the water.

There is nothing like taking a kid fishing and if you are not into fishing just doing anything with your kids is a good thing. What you do now with your young ones will mean a lot in there life when they grow up.

This past weekend both of my charters produced nice Trout. I mostly float fished in the river and the fishing and the weather were great……..
It is not out of the question to have a slow fishing day anytime but right now I just don't see it. Along with the Trout were some big Lady fish which we call the poor mans Tarpon. They are a blast to catch. Not only do they pull string but also like to jump.

We also caught quite a few Reds and some nice 4 to 5lb Jacks. I am going to enjoy 2 days off and then back at it mid week so I will be back next week with what I'm sure will be more great reports.
Thanks to all the past few days for a great time.
Until next time tight lines. Capt. James Howard (904)651-9557
