Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report
Northeast Florida inshore/nearshore report
It is mid-November and the water temperatures are hovering in the upper 60's. The fishing has been good between the fronts which come through this time of year.
Redfish are in the creeks and can often be seen cruising the shorelines and oyster beds occasionally crashing bait. They are also starting to school along the edges of the ICW. The big reds are thinning out and leaving the river. If you can find a pogie pod along the beach, check underneath for bull reds.
This is a prime time for speckled trout. Use sliding float rigs with live shrimp, freelined mullet, lipped diving lures, and top water lures to catch these fish.
Sheephead, and black drum fishing has picked up recently. Try fiddlers, pieces of crab, clam, and shrimp for these good eating fish.
Flounder fishing has been good, with some exceptional catches being made at the Guano dam following the November full moon. There are reports of pompano catches in area inlets, particularly, Nassau Sound.
