Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report
Inshore/nearshore report NE Florida
Water temps are in the mid 60's now and the fish are fired up. Slot reds are at the jetties, in the ICW, and in the creeks. Rat reds are plentiful also. Both speckled and yellowmouth trout are biting well.
The red hot flounder bite has tapered off, but the sheephead bite has picked up. Blues are here, and interestingly, jacks are hanging around despite the cooler water. Black drum are producing well at the jetties, in the river, and ICW.
Whiting, blues, drum, and the occasional pompano are available to the surf fishing crowd. Fresh bait is very important. If you can get out to the nearshore party ground reefs, red snapper, grouper, and sea bass are biting well. Make sure to abide by current state and federal catch regulations.
