It's time to be shrimping!

Capt. Scott Tait
July 29, 2010
Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report

The shrimp are running and the marine species are gourging! This time of year variety is the name of the game and when the shrimp start to migrate down the St. John's everyone follows. The croaker are biting well around the Ortega area. Flounder continue to be constant from Mayport to NAS Jacksonville. Redfish are still a good bet as well as a sprinkling of trout in the mix. Schools of jacks and ladyfish can be seen while traveling and can be jumped for some fast action. Try pitching topwaters, spoons, soft plastics as well as double-rigged jigs such as a Love's lure.
