Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well the crazy weather continues. We had a few nice days last week in the low 80's and now back to the mid 70's. One thing we have had no shortage of is WIND! There has been a break or two in the wind and the fishing is getting better with the water temperature about 70 degrees now.
I had several trips in the last week when the weather was good so I am going to combine some of the pictures in my report this week.

April is always the break out month for my big Trout spot's. I have been working them hard recently but the fish are still a little spotty. I have mixed in some nice Trout but they still are not here in full force for me. The float fishing with live shrimp has been the best so far for my charters but top water and suspending baits should start producing nice Trout any time.

The Redfish are still a little picky but there are plenty of them in the back water's. One day shrimp on jig heads is fine the next day you have to soak crabs and just wait. Unless my clients are dead set on catching a Redfish I want give them but an hour or so on the Reds and then we will go catch some Trout.

I still have not heard anything about the Spanish mackerel and I hope we don't miss that run. You never know about them. And you also need calm water to troll for them. You can load your box up in a short time when there here.

I have a few trips this week so I will get back to you about the results of them at the end of the week.
Until next time tight lines Capt. James Howard
