When is The Best Time of Year?

Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report

One of the most asked questions I get from people is when my favorite time of year to fish is. I love to fish anytime but the dead of the winter when it's cold and windy most of the time I have some of my best days on the water.

There are usually not many people out and when you find the fish they are usually huddled up so there are good numbers. I don't like being cold but sometimes it is well worth it…

The last week once again was great fishing. There are still plenty of Trout and that's an under statement. We caught at least 50 the other day throwing plastics in the same 100 yard stretch and had a box of nice keepers.

The Drum are still in the creeks and are plenty of fun on the light tackle. Oh yea did I mention that when you catch the big Reds just right they will also bite this time of year.

The presentation is just sticking some bait around them and just waiting. No jigging no moving no anything just a little patience…

Break out the cold weather gear and the hand warmers and go fishing. I bet you will have a great time.
