Jupiter Snook feeding on bait pods

Capt. Craig Korczynski
April 9, 2012
Jupiter - Saltwater Fishing Report

Jupiter, lox river still producing great snook fishing. Mullet schools are inside the river, snook are ambushing baits along sea walls, docks and open flats. Live baits, top water plugs and swim baits all produce strikes. The full moon brought strong tides and turned the fishing on, first of outgoing produced a plethora of snook in deep holes. Incoming tide snook were active in the shallows, taking jigs, and live baits, great time to sight fish.

Tarpon bite picked up, lots of juvenile tarpon around right now. The rain cooled the water a few degrees and the tarpon reacted, triggering schools to come to the surface. Jigs and live baits drifted with tide gets the rod bent.

Palm Beach snook bite along sea walls and docks producing good numbers. I am using green bass assassin jerk baits. Bigger snook are on drop offs and in deeper holes. It was a little tough to fish do to the strong west winds we had the end of the week.

Plenty of big jacks around right now and the schools are ferocious during low light hours. Jacks are busting bait schools and willing to take a Heedon spook with pleasure. Smaller jacks are being caught while jigging or live baiting around the docks and channel edges.

The flats are holding plenty of other bi catch like ladyfish, snapper, sheepshead and small drum. Hopefully the winds will start to dwindle, it has been a windy year.

Well that is the fishing report for the past week hope you all enjoyed. Remember you cant catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight Lines! Capt. Craig Korczynski, PhlatsInshoreFishing.com, 561-644-4371
