Jupiter Inlet, Hobe Sound & Juno Beach

Capt. Colin Hickey
April 16, 2006
Jupiter - Saltwater Fishing Report

Picking up...

The temperature is rising, the water is cleaner and calmer. Spring fishing is being seen after a couple of slow, slow weeks. Conditions have been great, except for a pretty rough day here and there but nothing to complain about. The tough part has been finding the fish. Although the fishing has been better it still isn't at its finest.

Finding the Fish

The fish have been scattered but pretty abundant. I've been finding bigger dolphin way out. 10-20 miles out there has been alot of debris and/or weeds. When the trolling in the 100-300 ft range isn't kicking I try 600-900 if no knockdowns or visible action there I keep going out. I've talked to two different captain or said on there way over to Grand Bahama, over 20 miles of traveling they seen a bunch of birds dropped lines in and found plenty of good size dolphin and even tuna. Wahoo are becoming caught more, and more in wahoo alley over off of West End. Look for bait around the jetty also there has been some, don't make that an excuse. Now here's your report and if the water isn't all fished out from the Easter weekend and thousands of fishing boats going out the st.lucie, jupiter and Palm Beach inlet then I'll be shocked.

Tight lines
