Jupiter Inlet, Hobe Sound & Juno Beach

Jupiter - Saltwater Fishing Report

Bulls are back, Wahoo's are being picky, Sailfish will stay till december

A couple weeks ago there seemed to be a small drought in the dorado fishing but I feel it is back on full force now. Some scattered weeds moved over the past couple days and hopefully it will stay out there although it is not fully formed it is still raising plenty of fish. When trolling scattered weeds it can become very irritating although effective. Dorado will still find food/baitfish or shelter under broken apart weedlines as long as it is enough for a small but living weed patch. When trolling scattered weeds move in and out through them and when hooked up mark it on the GPS because you know thats a small patch raising fish. Well the scattered weeds I found gave me a nice sized bull dolphin but was not bigger then his mother which was one of the biggest cows (female dolphin) ive ever caught. Getting out early is the key because it gives more time to find debris or weeds before the bite is gone.

The high speed troll for wahoos does not seem to be as effective as just pitching a live sardine or goggle eye out. A 50lb. hoo was caught last week to win a tournament around the full moon, he caught it on live bait. If you are going to high speed troll use a yo zuri lure a plug and a ballyhoo or mullet and see which it bites, then make your spread of that specific lure or bait. I just had someone say to me the other day "what is the trick to catch a wahoo because of their teeth" the nice guy that I am I did not laugh in his face, but I told him he needs to start using wire or else the wahoo is runnign away with his $20 lure every time. Do not think that youll catch a wahoo on 50# mono, if you do you are extremely lucky. Kingfish are still around and sailfish I think will stay till there peak season December. Try trolling and live bait because the live bait is getting the sails more then trolled dead bait.

where to troll?

The hit spot for me was a little north of the Loren towers to about the Juno Pier working depths between 120 - 310. The 115-175 range was the most productive for sure but you will catch fish any where from 75-80+ right now.

Tight lines
