Jupiter & Palm Beach Offshore Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Rob Mazzei
November 2, 2001
Jupiter - Saltwater Fishing Report

Jupiter Offshore Fishing

Wishin’ I was fishin’! Anyone who’s kept an eye the weather in Florida is aware that the last six weeks or so fishing has been extremely tough. Even inside the ICW. Several moderate Nor’Easters and tropical disturbances have shut down the small boat offshore capability. I personally have been working the flats north of Singer Island by canoe with not much success. Mullet of all sizes are loaded up around the "Burnt Bridge" but I haven’t seen much action on them.

In Jupiter there are still mullet inside the tidal pool inside Dubois Park, on the outgoing tide there have been blitzes of jack, blues and an occasional snook in the area of the out flow of the pool.

Blue water has pushed up close to the beach due to 2 weeks of 15-30 mph winds out of the notrheast and then southeast. The water has been clear inside the Jupiter A-1-A bridge. I believe conditions will get worse before they get better due to hurricane Michelle (my daughter’s name). Once the sea settles inshore and offshore should be outstanding. I shake off the doldrums by netting mullet, checking gear, and re-rigging.

I apologize from not returning recent e-mails, gateway.net is no longer an ISP, I switched servers and having to up grade some "stuff" before I can send e-mail.
