Jupiter - Saltwater Fishing Report

Kingfish explode, Sailfish shine, Marlin are among us and Dolphin still spotty!
Some of the best kingfishing I've ever experienced occurred over the last 10 days or so. From Jupiter inlet north to the Hobe Sound Loran tower was the most productive zone. 60-100 feet of water was very productive.
Over the last several days the school has seemed to move south off Palm Beach inlet. Reports came in that 80 feet of water in front of the inlet produced over the last day or two.
Several Blue Marlin have been caught out in the bluewater.
Dolphin fishing has been good one and dead the next. We've caught most of our fishing live baiting good looking areas. From 70 feet on out to 20 miles boats have gotten some decent fish, but nothing consistent. We found a weedline one day and the next it was gone and so were the fish.
Wahoo have been around but not in great numbers.
Sailfishing is heating up due to the loads of baitfish that have moved in relatively shallow.(40-60 feet) Again we've caught our sails live baiting from 60-300 feet around rips and edges caused the the fast moving current.
Although the sardines, cigar minnows, greenies and pilchards have been abundant off the beaches, there were several days the water was so clear they would not bite a sabiki rig or would scoot from under the cast net, so it pays to stock up on frozen sardines because the kings and snapper haven't seemed to mind dead bait.
Good luck if your fishing any of the local tournaments this weekend. We're fishing the Joe Namath "Grand Slam" tourney this Saturday. It looks as if it'll be a large showing, around 300 boats. You can still sign-up at Grand Slam Sportfishing Supply here in Jupiter.
See you on the H2O! Capt Rob
