"Shark Week" and Sailfish action off Jupiter, FL

Capt. Jim Black
July 18, 2015
Jupiter - Saltwater Fishing Report

The Bonita are still thick off Palm Beach County which means that almost every bait in the water and it's fish on! Although we don't eat Bonita, they are pound for pound one of the best fighting fish out there.

The hard part is getting them to the boat before they get eaten by "Jaws". Even that, though, is quite a sight to see. Watching a 6' Bull shark chase and eat a Bonita that's been hooked has been putting smiles on faces all summer long.

Heading north, there are still some Cobia, Mahi and even Sailfish being caught off Stuart. We caught 2 sailfish this past week on the "Black Attack". The "Let's Go" out of Stuart Inlet is still reporting regular Cobia catches.

Down south of the Palm Beach Inlet, the Kingfish bite is still going off. You've got to work for it, but King Mackeral is a great game fish. "Angler Management" out of Sailfish Marina reported catching 5 Kings the other day.

Jupiter Fishing Forecast:

As the summer wears on, the seas get calmer, the days get hotter, and the fishing slows down. We have the annual Mullet migration in October and you can target Tarpon, Kingfish and sharks along the beach. Also, look for the Mahi action to start to pick back up offshore.

Target Species:

Bonita, Sharks, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Cobia

More Fishing Reports:

Offshore charter fishing Jupiter, FL at it's finest on the Black Attack. It's just a short boat ride to the ledge and you're catching Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Kingfish and any number of other pelagic species. Our primary goal is to ensure that everyone on board has a day of fun. We are a personal charter perfect for families, novices and avid anglers alike. Since fishing isn't "catching", we offer a "catch a fish guarantee" for those days the fish just don't want to cooperate.
