Fishing is HOT!

Capt. Orlando Muniz
April 24, 2010
Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

If you've been thinking about scheduling a fishing charter in the Miami or Key Biscayne area, there is no better time than now. As expected our season has peaked. One of the reasons that the fishing has been so good is due to all the different species that are found off South Florida right now.

Some of the largest kingfish of the year are being caught on a daily basis. Dolphin or mahi as they are commonly known have started to show up and will be pouring through in good numbers with some of the largest fish of the year. Anglers that love the thrill of catchin sailfish can also get in on the action without enduring low tempereatures of January and February. If bottom fishing is your game some very nice mutton snapper have been caught as of late. On an afternoon/evening trip that I had two days ago we caught the largest schoolmaster snapper I have ever seen in these waters. The fish was just under 10 pounds and was caught off one of our county wrecks. Hopefully my customers will not forget to send me the pics so that we can post them later.

Besides the already mentioned species there are still plenty of tarpon around and will continue to be available through at least June. If you're more about quantity than quality there have been lots of bonito around ready to test your skills.

We'll like I already said, now is the time to book your Miami fishing charter. If you're ready to get in on the action you contact me at the number or email address below. We'll now it's time for me to get ready for my next trip.

Tight Lines,

Capt. Orlando Muniz
