Miami and Key Biscayne – offshore

Capt. Quinton Dieterle
March 26, 2001
Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

Dolphin Excitement

Quick Report

Today with seas calm and no wind we went in search of Dolphin. We found plenty but had trouble getting them to bite. We caught 20 but had to work hard to get them. The bests results came from small live pilchards we caught under the bridges. The fish were under large mixed turtle grass and sargassum weed lines in 5 to 8 hundered ft. The fish were in the 2 to 3 pound range and there were a few 5 to 10 pounders mixed in. Other than Dolphin there was little to talk about. Today was a half day on the Cutting Edge, I think if we were able to stay longer the fish would have bit better as the day went on.

Tomorrow and the rest of the week we will be fishing Full Day trips. I think we will have better results. Watch for our reports.
