Miami and Key Biscayne – offshore

Capt. Quinton Dieterle
January 2, 2002
Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

Finally

Nasty and rough is the only way to discribe the sea condition today. But, it was what the doctor was asking for. 10 foot seas and a ripping north current along with rain and 25 knot east winds created a situation that you knew was going to produce somthing. Well we got the first and second sailfish of the year and a nice King. The sailfish were in 220 ft. and the king was in 124 ft. They ate a speedo and pilchard. We only had about 2 hours to fish due to the rains that put the kites in the water twice. Other than that the action was slow. I think the next couple of days will improve greatly. Bait was good around the bridges and in the Cut.
