Miami and Key Biscayne – offshore

Capt. Quinton Dieterle
February 11, 2002
Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing Good and Should get Better

Today the fishing slowed down just a bit if you call 3 sailfish slowing down. But, it did seem to have slow periods during the day. We started out looking for Dolphin with the slack winds early and found a grass line in 300 ft. which looked good but only had a few fish on it.We caught a few and headed back to the edge in search of groupers on the wrecks. No luck there other than Barracudas. At that point I decided to put up the kites in search of sailfish, a slow start almost had us changing statagies again but a last minute sailfish bite reassured us that the decision to kite fish was the right one. As the day moved on the fishing seemed to get better, we caught one more and missed one after a short battle. We saw a boat next to us catch a couple and some dolphin started showing up on the edge. Well tomorrow is another day and I predict a good one. Tight Lines.
