Miami and Key Biscayne – offshore

Capt. Quinton Dieterle
February 14, 2002
Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

What do you Think!!!

Well what do you think, north breeze, strong north current, blue water, still wondering if fishing was good today? Of Course it was! With the breeze pushing 15 to 20 today I knew things would be happening, yesterday the bite was good and there was no wind. I got bait which was tough, and headed south to the area I like just south of Fowey. As the third bait on the first kite hit the water the sailfish grabbed the speedo and headed back on its southernly tack. A quick drop back and a quick set and we were on. A tough battle and a jumping fish took us 20 minutes to catch. We only had a half day so I stayed put and that was a good decision, a few more fish ended a great morning of sailfishing. The fish were biting any kind of bait and were moving through in a large area, 130 ft to 230 ft. Watch for free jumpers and try to get in front of them. Fishing is great now so give us a call.
