Miami and Key Biscayne – offshore

Capt. Quinton Dieterle
February 20, 2002
Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

Rough Again

Today the action just about came to a halt. We had one of 3 sailfish caught today with about 10 boats fishing. We caught our fish off the monument can in 160 ft. on a live blue runner. There were a few Dolphin around but they were tough to get to bite. We caught just a half dozen. The seas were 6 ot 8 in the morning and decreased to 4 to 6 by days end. No curren to speak of is most likely the cause of the slow down. Were hoping the fishing will get better tomorrow, but the conditions do not look to good. The bait situation got a bit better with the thread fins showing up at the bouys south of government cut. Don't worry the fishing will get better with this next front.
