Miami and Key Biscayne – offshore

Capt. Quinton Dieterle
March 10, 2002
Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

Red Hot

Fishing on friday was about as good as it can get. With the seas calm in the morning I through it would be a good day to try a look offshore, good dissision.

We found a line in 800 ft. that was full of dolphin, though they were tough to get to bite if you worked at it you could get some. We caught 40 and a 30 pounder. The line worked in to the south and ended up in 90 ft. were we also caught some nice dolphin. The fish were in the 8 to 9 pound range and were biting live pilchards with light leader. Once we worked into the edge we started to kite fish. It only took a few minute before we caught a double and then jumped off a single. Right before pulling in the lines we caught another fish out a little deeper than the first fish that was in 140. There were some other fish caught out in 190. Over all the fishing has been great with steady action.

Tight Lines
