Miami and Key Biscayne – offshore

Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

Exciting Friday and Monday for ME

Friday was another exciting day for the Cutting Edge. Catching a sailfish was plenty exciting don't get me wrong, but what I am about to tell you about this Friday will really get your blood flowing. It was flat calm and the fishing was OK, a few sailfish caught and a few seen. We had one and missed one so far. As the cell phone rang and I was looking at my calendar, which I rarely do on the boat while fishing, I caught a glimps of something Bright Blue racing around in the wake of the Cutting Edge. I quickly dropped what I was doing to race to the tower, there I saw the most assume sight a fisherman can see. A huge White Marlin peck fins extended and light up as bright as he could possibly get. The marlin was eating free swimming pilchards we had tossed out, suddenly the fish disappeared and reappeared on the left long, bingo the show began, it only lasted about 40 seconds before, oh it still hurts to say, pulls the hook. But on the Bright side the show was worth all it is said to be. The fish had to be over a hundred pounds and was a reel fighter. But as I always say "if you caught everything you had on it would be called catching".

Though I wish I could.

Monday was great to have a regular Customer out with us again and to catch a couple of big Sailfish, some Kings, and Bonito's. Oh and a nice Muttom for Grandma.

Thanks Tom !

Bait has been tough so be ready to give it a couple of hours. Bug and the range markers are the only producers right now.
