Miami and Key Biscayne – offshore

Capt. Quinton Dieterle
June 17, 2002
Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

Weather Breaks

Today the weather broke, yea. The fishing got good and everything is good. The dolphin today showed up on a weed line in 400 ft. The fish were small, but I did see some bigger fish that would not bite. They were in the 30 pound class. The fish were biting live pilchards and chunks and were 2 to 4 pounds. Off the weed line there were some schools of smaller fish but they for some reason were not biting as good as the ones on the weed line. Other than the Dolphin the fishing has been slow. But Dolphin are Good Right?

Bait is still tough but the fish are biting chunks so live bait is not necessary.

Tight Lines
