Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

Dolphin Fishing Improving
Fishing the past week improved greatly. The small dolphin which invaded the waters a month ago and then passed through, have returned moving to the south and much larger. The fish are averaging 3 to 5 pounds and occationally you will find a big fish mixed in. We had a couple in the twentys the other day, and a 30 pounder yesterday. The fish have been closer in then in the past few weeks. The first couple weeks in july the winds were so calm the fish just kept roaming offshore, a few days we found ourselves 30 miles out. Now, the fish are in 1,000 ft and some are even closer than that. The fish are finicky and are eating mostly live baits. You will get some on chuck bait at first but they get smart quick. The fish are under the birds or on floaters. There are alot of bonitos out there right now and can confuse you at time but you have to be persistant. You may find twenty flocks of birds on Bonitos and only 1or 2 on Dolphin. But, the schools when you find them are big. If you would like to get out and experience the action give me a call at 305=361=9740
