Miami and Key Biscayne – offshore

Capt. Quinton Dieterle
October 10, 2002
Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

Action Improves

Today the action improved. A few floaters in 200 to 400 ft. provided some nice dolphin for the customers on the Cutting Edge. The fish were nice size with some into the teens. We found 3 floaters and some weed in 300 ft and thats were the fish were. I saw a couple of fish following a turtle but we missed those. A grass line in 200 ft. looked good and if it continues into the next couple of days the fishing could take a turn for the better. On the edge the first sign of Kings showed up today. The boat blue waters said he caught a couple in the teens and missed a few more. He was using live pilchards. Sailfish have been scarce. The conditions are not favorable the last couple of days. Today we had south current to the north with a north current to the south, but dirty water both ways. This could change tomorrow, I saw what looked like an edge pushing in to the south. Well Good Luck
