Miami and Key Biscayne – offshore

Capt. Quinton Dieterle
October 14, 2002
Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

Not a bad afternoon

With not many options on a flat calm hot afternoon we really had to dig deep to find a plan that might produce some fish. So, I decided to fish the shallow wrecks off Key biscayne and cape florida. It worked enough to call the day a success. We caught a 35 pound african pompano on 12 pound, on one wreck and a few nice kings on another. Then we picked up and ran south to a wreck called the ultra freeze and fished the deep line and produced and couple big yellow tails and several 8 pound muttons. Along with some big blue runners and jacks. It was some what of a success. It was accually alot of fun.

The boats fishing all day did find a couple of kings down south and I heard of one sailfish. No dolphin Sunday but we did have some on Friday. Saturday produced about the same as yesterdays bottom assortment.

Good Luck
