Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

Bahamas Blue's
Well after a few weeks in the Bahamas, I feel a little blue. Well for two reasons. One being it was great and now I feel blue coming back to slow fishing. Two we had shots at some nice fish, BLUE MARLIN to be exact. Fishing in March Harbor we caught two nice size Blue Marlin, both on the same Black Bart Lure. The fish were tough fighters and bit off the Elbow.(Area you fish in March Harbor). The reel downer was a fish we had on in Harbor Island the next week. The right short went down, kinda a slow bite, but we missed the fish. As we worked the lure trying to get the fish to bite again I saw this huge black fish cruising behind the lure, same one as the others ate. Soon we had the fish up and excited again. Sure enough he ate and the battle was on. A couple cool jumps and down he went, never to be seen again. After 45 minutes the hook pulled out of the fishes mouth. Very Disappointing, but thats marlin fishing. And as you can imagine, I am ready to go back and try my luck again. Now you see why I was Blue.
Fishing here in Miami has been really slow. No Dolphin action at all. Now this could change tomorrow. The weather change could cool down the water and get the fish to stay in this area. Lets Hope.
